Main Artistic Work
Each year all A.R.A.B participants collaborate as a large ensemble, working conceptually, artistically and organisationally with the team of artists, teachers and community workers. The work is developed and rehearsed through a year-long process and is framed within narratives that reflect and investigate the participants’ life experiences. These works can involve up to fifteen different performing and visual art forms and are toured to town halls, school and nonperformance venues, playing to large family, community, school and festival audiences.
In 2010, A.R.A.B’s main artistic work, Northern Trax, featured in the Melbourne International Arts Festival, bringing its youth ensemble to the transformed Campbell Arcade for a week of sell-out shows and a series of surprise dance installations in and around Flinders Street Station and Queensbridge Steps.
